I was born and raised in Colorado, which I believe qualifies me to say that this is a beautiful state. Most of the clients that I photograph get married in Colorado. Because of that, I want to share this list of five reasons why you should get married in Colorado.

The beauty

Without a doubt, Colorado is a gorgeous state. There is so just much to see!

Here you can have a destination wedding at a ski resort, a winter wonderland wedding, an elopement on top of a mountain, or a scenic outdoor wedding during the summer.

Here are a few things that make Colorado unique

The adventure

With Denver International Airport (DEN) being one of the busiest airports in the world, Colorado is easy to get to. The airport is within driving distance of 25 miles to downtown Denver with access to I-25 and I-70.

With both of those interstates, you can easily get to any of the popular places in Colorado. That includes Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, Colorado Springs, Vail, and Pueblo. It is also an easy drive from DIA to Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Going on an adventure in Colorado is easy! No matter where you end up, there sure will be something spectacular!

The activities

The iconic activities in Colorado will obviously be mountain sports. that includes biking, hiking, rock climbing, and skiing.

Many of these sports can be dangerous if you are not careful, but they are a lot of fun! I am an avid skier and used to be very competitive in rock climbing. Fun fact, Colorado is a very competitive state (especially in Boulder) for both skiing and rock climbing.

Besides mountain-related activities, you can also find equestrian, fishing, hunting, kayaking, paddle boarding, road cycling, and many other fun things to do.

The weather

Depending on your preference, this can either be a pro or a con.

The weather in Colorado is very unpredictable. Some days may be in the high 70s and the next it will be snowing with freezing temperatures.

You will also have to deal with extreme winds every once in a while. During the winter, watch out for blizzards with the possibility of avalanches. During the summer, you can get caught in massive thunderstorms with flash floods. However, most days it is just beautifully sunny!

One year I got caught in a huge hail storm. There was so much hail that it looked like snow. Some spots had as much as 2 or 3 feet!

Personally, I find it exciting and thrilling, but that might not be the case for everyone.

The vendors

Colorado has some of the most talented wedding professionals in the industry. Part of that is because of the adventurous culture throughout the state.

You will have plenty of options for putting together the perfect vendor team for your dream wedding. Also, if you are looking for a photographer with natural colors, contact me! I would love to chat about helping you capture the best day of your life!
